History of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup is an international tournament organized by the International Cricket Council. The first tournament was hosted in South Africa in 2007, with India defeating Pakistan in the final. Pakistan won the second tournament on June 21, 2009, by defeating Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in England. 

In May 2010, England defeated Australia by 7 wickets at the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 tournament that was held in the West Indies.

The West Indies won the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 after defeating Sri Lanka in the finals. For the first time, a host country competed in the ICC World Twenty20 final, and it was the first time the competition took place in an Asian country. There were just 12 participants for the tournament in 2012. However, 2014 saw an expansion to 16 teams, with three new teams making their debuts.
